What To Do Once You’ve Finished Your Cross Stitch

You buy a cross stitch chart or kit, you do all day and night, embellish, correct mistakes and erase the cross stitch (or perhaps ask yourself if you need to erase the cross stitch), and you finally finish. You back down and admire your work, and then you don't know what to do with it.

For many, this is a case of ignoring them in the corner, but you can use full cross stitching in a number of ways. We've collected the best we know and a few suggestions from our subscribers. We'll start with some of the more obvious ones and then look at the more interesting ones.

Frame It

Yes, that's right; create it I know many people who cross stitch, but not many who cross stitch and then create the basis for their work. For me, if you're going to spend hundreds of hours on a piece of art (or craft), you might as well display it.You have two options when it comes to framing, you can either supply the cross stitch frame yourself or go to the compiler. The developer will do a good job, but it will cost a lot. Decorating yourself is almost free, but it takes a little more effort to look perfect, for example, you need to practice if you have to supply a Australia cross stitch frame with or without glass. But whichever route you choose, the design of your work allows you to show it (even if it's just for you) and enjoy your work.

However, just like me, you may have intertwined so many things and filled in so many frames that there is no more wall space on your wall. This is when I go back through my frames and update them. It may be more difficult for those of you who prefer to create a cross stitch frame with a creator, but for those in the self-education, it gives you the opportunity to always have something new.

Store It

This may sound crazy at first, but listen to us; save it. Unlike any other option on this list, if you save it, you won't see it, but it will be in perfect condition (assuming you saved your finished cross stitch correctly). If you want to make a piece a heirloom, or at least keep it in frame at a later stage, you need to store it in a safe place.

Sell It

Let me answer the question that may have just been; people buy finished cross stitch. Of course, there is no mass market, but people part with their money and buy a lot of finished products. In fact, so often have we done a post on how to sell a finished cross stitch.

You can recoup the cost of production and actually earn yourself a lot of profit. You have to part with your cross-stitching though; however, for many it is not so difficult.
